OK, so I am a little late arriving and actually just picked up the 10/31/87 JGB show from the Lunt-Fontaine this weekend. The whole thing is unbelievable but I really love the Werewolves. From the way he drags out the "beef....chow.....mein" to the shout out to Steve Parrish and Bill Graham, to the primal howl he lets out about half-way through, this thing DEFINITELY fires it up. I know the Dead did this one at least a handful of times, are there any really good ones that anybody knows about?

My pick for best Werewolves is this gem. I also like this audience recording better than the Dicks Picks SBD of this show, the famous "mescaline show". The band sounds very high and like they are having a great time! This is also a top shelf audience recording and a damn fine show! Thirty years ago yesterday!

SkyDawg: Great call! I wonder what the deal is with the band and Springfield, MA.... it seems like every show they played there was "different." (no idea how to explain it) [eg, the January '79 2nd set...]

Thanks for the reminder,

[today's the anniversary of my first show: UMass '79; not too far from Springfield.]

I saw them do Werewolves in Lexington on 4/21/78 and Phil wore a werewolf mask while the band were playing it! It was pretty amusing.... I suspect he, or someone else was wearing it at this 5/11/78 show also.

Always had a soft spot for 10.31.85 http://www.archive.org/details/gd1985-10-31.sbd.miller.23590.sbeok.shnf Dig Jerry noodling Dvorak into Funnipeculia then Phil, I presume, doing his lycanthropic impressions in a real spacy space tripping into a spooky Werewolves. Just a pity it didn't segue into Fadeaway, or Dark Star, or something.
AaaOOOooo...forgot about this one he done in london...

All I did was go on-line to www.jerrygarcia.com and got the digital download for 20 bucks. Money well spent. I'm sure other people on here have it that you can hunt it down but I'm lazy/impatient.

Thanks. I was looking for it the old school share way, but I'm not averse to the occasional purchase. If I can't trade it, I'll think about the other option.

God bless you and yours!!! How was i too know that 2 of my all time favourite acts appeared on one bill!!!!!The copy I have of this show never even mentioned Warren or had the interview with Bobby. I never saw the boys but i saw Warren once and it was a BLAST. I cannot thank you enough for pointing this gem out!! Also a thousand blessing on the Boys, the Archive and all the posters. My life is oh so much richer because all these things exist.

Peace:Skippy

I need to get these once I get the money its happenin. Well once I get back from Ohio from the first day of Phil and I get WSP tickets for both nights in Charlotte. Well actually once I get back from STS9 and Umphree's McGee than I will shell out the dough to get these Pure Jerry sets.
